Our mission is simple: to become the premier 'developmental' wrestling club in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. We believe that building strong wrestlers starts with building strong fundamentals—especially at the beginner and intermediate levels. Our focus is on teaching the right way from the start, with consistent coaching, structured practices, and a competitive environment that promotes growth at all ages.

💥 Development Focus:
We are especially committed to growing youth wrestling. During the AAU season, we will host bi-weekly scrimmages for K–5 beginners with other local Chattanooga clubs to help young wrestlers gain real match experience in a low-pressure environment.
Whether your child is brand new to the sport or just starting to compete, MAT CLASH WC is the place to build confidence, learn the fundamentals, and grow into a strong, skilled wrestler.

Coach Michael Keefe – MAT CLASH WC, Chattanooga
K-8 Club Coach
Coach Michael Keefe brings elite-level experience, proven success, and a passion for developing wrestlers to MAT CLASH WC – Chattanooga. As a former NCAA All-American and Hall of Fame inductee, Coach Keefe knows what it takes to compete—and win—at the highest levels.
His wrestling journey began at Ringgold High School, where he became a 2-time Georgia State Champion and helped lead his team to both State Dual and Traditional Championships in 2002. He continued his career at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), earning NCAA All-American honors in 2005, becoming a 2-time Southern Conference Champion, and setting the record for most career wins in SoCon history. In recognition of his accomplishments, Coach Keefe was inducted into the UTC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
As a coach, Keefe has left his mark on the Georgia wrestling scene. He led Ringgold High School to a 2008 State Duals Championship, and Dalton High School to a 2009 Region Title and State Duals Runner-Up finish. Over the years, he has coached 28 individual state medalists and 8 state champions, building successful athletes through solid fundamentals, high-level technique, and mental toughness.
At MAT CLASH WC, Coach Keefe plays a vital role in training and mentoring wrestlers of all ages. His dedication to development and his high standards make him a cornerstone of the club’s mission to grow the sport and shape the next generation of champions.

Coach Eric Mountain – MAT CLASH WC, Chattanooga
Middle School/High School
Coach Eric Mountain brings nearly two decades of championship experience, leadership, and a passion for developing young talent to MAT CLASH WC – Chattanooga. A staple in Tennessee wrestling, Coach Mountain has helped shape one of the most dominant programs in the state—and is now focused on building the next wave of talent in the Chattanooga area.
For 19 years, Coach Mountain was a key figure in the Cleveland Blue Raiders wrestling dynasty, where he played a major role in establishing a culture of excellence. As head coach of Cleveland Middle School, he led the program to an incredible 227-12 dual meet record, 11 conference championships, and 8 undefeated seasons between 2009 and 2023. His teams were known for being tough, technical, and consistently prepared to win.
In 2022, Coach Mountain took on a new challenge as Head Wrestling Coach at East Hamilton High School, where he has continued to make a major impact. In just a short time, he’s developed a strong foundational youth pipeline, established a culture of hard work and accountability, and coached multiple TSSAA state placers.
At MAT CLASH WC, Coach Mountain is committed to the same core principles that have driven his success—building disciplined, confident wrestlers through structured training, focused development, and consistent mentorship.
