I get asked this all the time and figured that this is a great opportunity to tell the story of $Bmoney Beastin' Athletics. I can't take the credit for the name in any way shape or form. In 2014 my son Bryson came up with the name as a gamertag on his Xbox. I thought to myself how cool it sounded and looked. The dollar sign in the front and the apostrophe at the end. A 5-year-old at the time came up with it and I still find that as an amazing thing. I remember writing it on a posted note. I had it in my wallet for years. No idea why, or what it was? At one point I thought that maybe it was gym. Maybe it was a little league team. No idea, I just knew it was cool. As time went on Bryson began playing football and baseball and in 2015 entered the sport of wrestling. Which has been his "last sport standing" so to speak, as this year he decided he is going to focus on wrestling entering the 8th grade. Over the years he used the hashtag #BmoneyBeastin and still, we had no idea what it was? In the winter of 2021, I was watching a documentary on Shaquille O'neal. He told a story about a lady at a game when he was with the Orlando Magic yelling and cussing at him for the cost of basketball shoes. I remember the line "Why are you charging these babies so much!" Being the amazing human being that he is, he canceled a multi-million-dollar Reebok deal and partnered with Wal-Mart. As of 2022, he has sold over 200 million pairs of affordable basketball shoes. Bryson and my younger son Zach have had a couple of pairs over the years. While watching this I began to think of Bryson's first wrestling season. I was a single father of two on a budget. I couldn't afford $100 plus for a pair of wrestling shoes. Luckily, my younger son Zachary had a baseball coach who had a pair that his older son had outgrown. A hand me down so to speak. Bryson wore those all season. I remember thinking back then that there needed to be an affordable option in the wrestling space, but never imagined years later we would create one?! In the middle of this documentary, I began to do research. What are manufacturing costs? How do you build a website? How do you obtain an LLC? By August 2022, $Bmoney Beastin' Athletics was born. I remember thinking that we needed a slogan. Everyone knows "Just Do It" with Nike, what would be that for us? I heard Joe Rogan speaking about how 99% of success is simply showing up. That is how "Show Up and Show Out" was born. I know, it is wild sometimes where inspiration truly comes from. At first as I was working on the Version 1 wrestling shoe, I began selling just apparel trying to spread the branding. It went well, not great. Nobody knew what it was. I kept grinding and in December of 2022, the $Bmoney Beastin' Athletics Version 1 wrestling shoe came into existence with a retail price of $49.99. I decided along the way to ship our shoes in a drawstring bag where underprivileged kids would have something to carry their shoes and gear in at no extra cost. As of May of 2023, there are pairs of Version 1's in 18 states. Bryson wore a pair during the 22-23 season. With the idea to give an affordable alternative, I began donating pairs to underprivileged clubs across the country. To date, $Bmoney Beastin' Athletics has donated nearly $4,000 worth of wrestling shoes to underprivileged clubs in 9 different states. In January, I began working on the Version 2. I partnered with Just Heart Apparel in Oceanside, California for the Version 2's, as the owner of the brand is an incredible human being, great graphic artist, and truly understood the goals of this company. The Beastin' V2 wrestling shoes were released in late May of 2022. To date, we have these in 11 states and counting. This month we decided that we will begin entering a market that really, I have never seen. Not to say it isn't out there, but I haven't run across it. Custom team/club wrestling shoes. The Beastin' Ultimates you can see under our wrestling shoe dropdown menu is the model used for these custom team shoes. Currently working on a couple of designs for different local teams. The end goal will always stay the same, offer an affordable alternative, but we also want to spread $Bmoney Beastin' to the national level wrestler as well. That is where the Beastin' Ultimates come in. The new "Graffiti" logo was added to give the brand a new look and feel, as well as a small, clean stamp on each pair of custom team shoes. The website has recently been updated to reflect this. To sum up, $Bmoney Beastin' Athletics is a small business with big goals. Founded by a father and son, and always giving back the best that we can. If you would like to support the initiative, grab a cool hoodie or tee. Tell a friend to follow us on social media. Spread the message of "Show Up and Show Out". Eventually we would like to see people repping the $Bmoney Beastin' brand the same way they do larger brands like Nike and Adidas. Rest assured, we have the work ethic, creativity, and compassion to do just that. Stay Tuned!
